NOW LIVE EVENTS: MINDFULNESS WORKSHOP
The Clore Ballroom at Royal Festival Hall, 12.30pm – 1.30pm, FREE
In this event, NOW present an introduction to Mindfulness, a N.I.C.E. approved mind-body approach that helps us to reduce stress and get the maximum out of our lives. Delivered by expert Christopher Gaia of Mindfree, this beginner’s workshop will provide an introduction to mindfulness techniques, which have been scientifically proven to help alleviate stress, depression, negative emotions and self-criticism, through gentle, systematic mental training. You will learn some simple exercises to help retrain your mind and body to be more connected to your life as it actually happens. This facilitates more enjoyment of the positive in your life and more insight into the less positive.

More Information on Southbank Centre’s Festival of Love
Southbank Centre’s summer-long Festival of Love (28 June – 31 August) explores the seven Ancient Greek themes of love over a series of weekends. The fourth weekend (16 – 17 August) is centred on the Ancient Greek concept of Philautia, or self-love, and will feature a line-up of free performances, interactive activities and workshops for both body and mind. Rather than vanity or narcissism, Philautia embraces the act of being true to one’s values. With emphasis on self-respect and responsibility, it enables us to care for ourselves so that we can in turn care for others.
