Participant Spotlight: Mark Williamson / Action for Happiness

Mark Williamson

Action for Happiness helps people take practical action to improve mental wellbeing and to create a happier and more caring society. Their patron is The Dalai Lama and they have tens of thousands of members who are taking action to increase wellbeing in their homes, workplaces, schools and local communities. Their vision is a happier and less self-centred world, with far fewer people suffering with mental health problems and far more people feeling good, functioning well and helping others.

This will be my third year running a NOW workshop at wilderness and I absolutely LOVE the amazing friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere that always seems to happen in the NOW tent – can’t wait!

Any tips on how the audience can best benefit from your workshop with NOW Live Events?

Get there in good time as the tent always seems to fill up quickly! Other than that, just bring a friendly smile and be willing to chat about interesting things with some other really nice people.

Mark’s Past Events with NOW

At Wilderness (August 2014) Action for Happiness

Our event will encourage the audience to stop, reflect and be mindful of the things that really make for a happy life. We will be covering five themes: Wonder, Hope, Love, Gratitude, and Change, and for each we will be asking people to reflect on their own personal experiences and to share their ideas with other attendees in a friendly and interactive way. It promises to be thought-provoking, inspiring and lots of fun.

At Deptford Lounge (June 2014)

At this NOW event we will be looking at some themes that are vital for happiness – like gratitude, hope, acceptance and wonder. We’ll be asking people to reflect on what these themes mean for them, right here and right now – and we’ll be encouraging people to connect with others and share their ideas and reactions.
