Kamari Romeo is a trainee facilitator on the Barbican Junior Poets programme working with 11-16 year olds to create a published anthology of poetry. He is an eclectic artist who likes to use music, film and movement to connect with his participants during facilitation. As well as creating a therapeutic environment for participants, Kamari believes it is important for people to feel like they have creative freedom over their own work and as he leads projects, endeavors to provide this freedom. As a freelance practitioner, he dedicates his time wholly to the projects that matter most to him.
At Deptford Lounge (July 2016)
Come and join Kamari Romeo, trainee facilitator on the Barbican Junior Poets programme, as he invites you to take ideas out of the ‘ToyBox’, and put them back with a better understanding. ToyBox will offer self-expression and performance using poetry, creative writing and drama as well as various wellbeing tools. Kamari will be inspiring participants to develop their relationship with nature and their idea of what home means to them. This is a therapeutic space for participants coming to terms with the notion of belonging between primary and secondary school changes – open to all 9-11 years olds of all abilities / experiences.
